Along with knowing whether your generator exercises weekly, there is another important thing you should know about your Generac Generator…the Serial Number! We never want you to ask Wheres your generator? but it can happen Did you or your installer register your Generac Generator? Are you sure? Would you have the serial number or the ability to get it for the local police department if it were stolen?
Dinwiddie County Virginia Sheriff Dusty Rhodes encourages homeowners in his county and surrounding areas to be sure they have product serial and model numbers for all their important possessions. In December 2010 Sheriff Dusty Rhodes called Hale’s Electrical Service, Inc. from a traffic stop where a Generac Generator was suspiciously being transported through his county. Sheriff Rhodes provided Hale’s with a serial number that was not in the Generac or Hale’s registry system. A quick phone call to a Hale’s contact within Generac resulted in a previously registered owner’s name and phone number. Within 2 hours, the previous owner was contacted, provided the new owner’s information, who verified the Generac Generator was in fact missing. The suspect was arrested and the generator was returned to the rightful owner.
Hale’s Electrical Service, Inc. includes model number and serial number, along with other pertinent information securely in our owner’s packets when our installations are complete and presented to our homeowners. Each Generac Generator sold by Hale’s Electrical Service, Inc. is factory registered and a copy of proof of registration is mailed to our customers after start-up. Once installation is complete, a service card is completed which contains all the pertinent information regarding our customer and their Generac Generator.
