ed or emailed directly to you. Regular maintenance to your generator is as important as it is for your automobile or air conditioner. We offer several levels of service based on the model installed. As a Generac® Elite® dealer, Hale’s Electrical Service, Inc. is required to have certified / trained technicians on staff, available 24/7/365.
After installation of a Generator Package from Hale’s Electrical Service, Inc. we offer our new customers a special discounted automatic maintenance offer for the duration of your warranty coverage. Our certified factory trained technicians are scheduled for a convenient day to perform your service and you are given a date and time frame when the technician will arrive. We are there when we say we will be or we will contact you to let you know we have had a change in scheduling!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- Why annual maintenance? It is as important as regular oil changes on your car or truck. For optimal performance, you want your generator ready for the next outage.
- When to change your oil & filter and have regular maintenance adjustments made? Generac® states oil & filter should be changed every 200 hours or annually, whichever comes first. In addition to the oil & filter change, our factory trained technicians regap/ change your spark plugs, clean / replace your air filter and adjust the operational settings of your generator to factory settings for optimal performance.
- Can I make these adjustments as a Do-It-Yourselfer? These adjustments should be handled by a skilled / trained technician to limit the potential of voiding your warranty or causing operational issues with your Generac® Generator. Newer models of Generac® generators have a system event log that our technicians have been trained to use to troubleshoot and service your generator, based on it’s recent performance. Their training is an added value to you during annual maintenance, as they are skilled in heading off most potential performance issues at service.
- How long does a service take and do I have to be home? Depending on model and level of service chosen, annual maintenance can take 1-2 hours and you may or may not have to be home for annual maintenance to be performed.
- Why a variety of levels of service? To accommodate a variety of budget and needs, we provide several levels of service. Each level provides a specific set of criteria for our technicians. An industry standard, rest assured that each level provides for the basic needs of you and your generator with each increased level providing a more in depth service. In the future we will considering an ala carte menu of services for those Do-It-Yourselfers who change their oil & filter themselves.
- What if the technician finds something wrong with my generator? Our technicians are provided with your information and will contact you prior to making any additional cost repairs. They will be prepared to give you the approximate cost of repairs, whether the part is on their truck or to be ordered and how long the repair will take. Current Generator Labor Repair Rates will apply for the additional time on site, beginning after the normal service allotted time. Most common parts are stocked on all of our service trucks to ensure you are getting the best service in the industry!
